Yarker Station

 

Serpentine  Hose/Nozzle control

 

 

Materials:

·         PPE/SCBA (one set per participant)

·         Traffic Cones (4 to 6 per team depending on group size)

·         Water Sources (need to have two to three charged lines depending on number of students

·         Hose – 1 sections 50’ per team

·         Wood signs – 1 per team (to be knocked over with charged handline

·         Pumper operator.

·         Large playing field – clear of tripping/falling hazards, etc.

·         Heavily weighted ball

·         Barrier tape, spray paint, etc. to outline playing field

·         Teams of 3 to 4 people

 

Gearing Up

 

Teams start with gear placed in front of them.

When command is given, members must be fully dressed, helmets, gloves, hoods in place, and be prepared to breath air (facepiece and bottles on). They do not have to breath air.

 

Serpentine

 

Pick up nozzle. Using a charge line, teams begin to advance ball

Follow marked pattern through serpentine.

If knock down cone, team must begin again

Advance ball to marked area and direct stream to knock over wooden sign

Call for line to be discharged.

Remove nozzle and return to accountability.

Record time.
