Good racing luck was with the St.Myers Racing Team on Friday the 13th as they made the trip to Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima, Ohio. Forty-two competitive UMP Modifieds signed in for the night's action.

After inspection, the draw was made, hot laps were ran, and Doug was lined up tenth in the 1st heat race. The green flag flew and the 4S was off and running. Moving up through the traffic, close to the half way, Doug had passed three cars in one sweep when the yellow flag came out. The field was realigned, and Doug was in the seventh position when the race was restarted. He went right back past the same three and was flying to the front. Up to second spot as the laps ran out, looking very fast, he was running down heat race winner Ronnie Perrine in the 0J when the checkered flag fell. Doug looked good finishing 2nd and the team was happy with the car and looking forward to the feature.

Good luck was with the team as the redraw produced a third place starting spot for the A-main. On the start, the pole sitter went to sleep, and it cost Doug as the outside line moved by going into turn one. Getting settled into his rhythm, Doug went to work on getting the spots back. A bullet was dodged early in the race coming off turn two as the #18 of Jim Henry drove over his head and into Doug's right rear quarter panel. Doug did a fantastic job of saving the car, as it looked like the 4S was about to go head on into the back stretch wall. As the race progressed, Doug moved into second position and started working on the #33 of Greg Beem. Beem drove the preferred line and Doug tried him many times on the low side. The race between the two was very fast and clean as the 33 and 4S ran away from the rest of the field. And that is the way it stayed until the race ended as Beem edged Doug out by less than a car length at the checkered.

Following Doug to the line was the 75M of Dusty Moore for third, the 33G of Dave Gant in fourth and rounding out the top five was the #18 of Jim Henry.

The 4S had it's best outing of the young season and the car just keeps getting faster with each start. Way to go Doug!
