Racing today at Gas City I-69 Speedway for the St.Myers Racing Team. Thirty-eight UMP Modifieds were on hand. Four heat races were run with the 37 of J.D. Francis winning heat one. Heat two went to Brent Sutton in the 6S. Heat three was taken by the 23 of Dan Hamstra. Doug started the 4S from eighth in heat four and worked his way up through traffic to the third spot at the checkered as the race ran straight through. Dusty Moore in the 75M picked up the win. A 20 car B-Main was ran with the 25 of Bub Patrick picking up the win. Lee Hobbs came from 17th to pick up the last transfer to the A-Main.

Doug started the feature in twelfth and moved to eighth where a battle began for the best line and track position. Hamstra and Moore started the front row and dueled side by side for over half the race before Hamstra took the lead. Scott Orr came from the 14th starting spot using the high side and slide jobs to work to third late. Doug was in a tight battle of his own with the 00 of Rowland, the 225 of Jesse Bitterling and the 37 of Francis. Hamstra picked up the win followed by Moore, Orr, Sutton and Rowland rounding out the top five. Doug brought the 4S home seventh behind Bitterling and just ahead of Francis. Mahoney and Holderman rounded out the top ten.
