Lawrenceburg Speedway was on tap today with no racing at Montpelier today. Doug started fourth in his heat and looked very respectable for his first trip to "The Burg" in a modified. The track was to his liking and he came home third, making the redraw for the feature.

As for the feature, the 4S started fifth and on the second start, Doug found himself going around in turns three and four. The result was a flat left front tire. The crew got the tire changed in record time (for the world's slowest pit stop!) but just fast enough to get Doug back out for the restart.

Joining the field at the tail, things went from bad to worse. A couple laps after the restart, J.D. Francis made contact with another car (I do not know the driver) on the backstretch. JDs car jumped in the air and the other car done a 180 degree spin and Doug had no where to go. The resulting contact took most of the right front corner off the 4S. The evening was over with the exception of replacing front-end parts to get the car back in the trailer. Doug finished somewhere around 17th as near as I know.
