Match Report :

Despite an early setback, having lost the toss and being put in to bat, the Stonor middle order proceeded to help themselves to a feast of runs against an

unusually inaccurate Turville bowling attack. A neat Cox fifty, good pinch hitting from Kelso and Nicholson and Mayo’s punishment of the bad ball all helped

the home side to post a competitive total. Only Runkell had any joy with his bowling for the visitors.

In reply Turville made good progress and appeared to be on course to challenge but the loss of Simon, Wade and Hunt in quick succession dented their

hopes of victory in a fixture that neither side wanted to lose. Predictably the home side now had their work cut out to claim further wickets and with Eykyn

producing a solid defence the home bowlers lacked the penetration needed to force victory. Despite tidy efforts from Brown, Fennel and Kelso with the ball
