Encouraged as I made it over obstacles that were put into my path. Some I did not make it over, causing me to stumble and fall but yet learn a valuable lesson in life.
I won a few races, lost a few battles and still want to run on in Jesus' name! For the race is not given to the swift nor to the strong but to the one that endureth until the end and the end is yet to come!
Remembering Romans 8:28; And we know that all things work together for good to them who are the called according to his purpose.
ABOUT ME
I am a native of Southern California, where I attended Tree of Life Missionary Baptist Church, in Los Angeles. I served in the choir, (The Voices of Watts) and later became (The Gospel Soul Children) under the auspices of Robert Henry and Geneva Alexander. I learned a lot under the both of their direction as we toured every year to the Gospel Music Workshop as the L.A. Chapter, founded by the late James Cleveland, who also formed the Los Angeles Mass Choir, with the help of musicians and directors such as Rodena Preston-Williams and Mattie Moss Clark. I Recorded live with the Voices of Watts, Gods Way is the Best Way, produced by Rev. James Cleveland. From there I moved on to Christ Memorial Church of God in Christ, the late Benjamin J. Crouch, (father of Andre and Sandra Crouch) where I surrendered unto God and accepted the full baptism of the Holy Spirit under his teachings. As a member of the sancuary choir, we had a jail ministry which was an experience for me to see the faces and tears on the prisoners who couldn't leave like we could, but had to go back to their cells. Some full of the Holy Spirit they just received or some just inspired by the message, the praise, the worship and song on that Wednesday night, feeling free but yet still a prisoner. I could remember having a good time at church all day and driving to Melody Land, the studio of TBN's Praise the Lord, to support Andre Crouch as he ministered in song. Excited about doing the soundtrack to the movie Color Purple, produced by Quincy Jones and the recording of Sandra Crouch's live Grammy Award winning album, (Sandra and Friends).
With all the music greats and live recordings, my inspiration is to write and share the experiences that I have witnessed and all the teachings of the love of God that is planted deep down with in me. Although they are very few words, but inspired by the Holy Spirit with just enough for you to taste and see what the Lord has for you as he is the greater love, the greater joy and the greater peace!
