Summer Camp in a Hundred Acre Woods (13 August 2002)

Summer Camp this year with Preston and St Marys Guides has been a big sucess. The theme, chosen by the Guides, was 'Winnie-the-Pooh', and each of the Guiders took one of the characters names, including Owl, E-or, Winnie and Piglet.

During the week, the Guides undertook a walk to a local windmill, raft-building, canoeing, archery, swimming and the 'little owl' (affectionately known as 'eggbert') wide game. They also did some patrol cooking, various crafts, and took part in campfire songs and sketches.

Congratulations to the Guides who gained their Campers' badge!

Well done to all those who took part!

The Guide Association is being re-launched by former Steps star Lisa Scott-Lee as 'Girlguiding UK'.

The main idea behind the re-launch is to save you from having to explain what being a member of The Guide Association meant by adding 'I'm a girl Guide'.

The new name, logo and 'strap-line' surprise your self’ is also intended to up-date the image of the association.

Find out much more on the exiting new Girlguiding UK web-site at www.guides.org.uk.
