The mission of the Parish Life Ministry is to encourage participation through fellowship of all parishioners, new and ole, in parish events throughout the year. Fellowship Committee - This group of men and women are dedicated to planning and staffing our times of fellowship and celebration. Organizing coffee hours, lemonade Sundays, annual Progressive Dinner, annual Harvest Feast, as well as special luncheons and receptions are just a few of the ways this committee serves. Resource & Development Committee - St. Peter's gift shop and special sales are managed by this group of dedicated parishioners. Events sponsored include a Treasurer's sale at the County Fair, and a bizaar at the annual Oyster Roast. Unique St. Peter's Collectibles including prints and note cards are availabe through the gift shop. St. Peter's CollectiblesYouth - Our youth are an active & vital part of our church family. There are ongoing activities to lead them in a relationship with not only one another but with God and to help them grow and live in those relationships. The youth from 3rd grade through High School are included in the activities. They meet several times per month September through June and a summer mission trip annually. Oyster Roast - Our annual Oyster Roast is a day of fellowship and hard work. At a beautiful setting on the Pamunky River we serve approximately 600 people. The menu includes roasted oysters, planked fish, fried fish, oyster stew, clam chowder, special recipe hush puppies, and hotdogs & hamburgers. Attendees claim their place at the oyster tables and wait to hear the bell ring that singles it's time to eat. This fundraiser event is extremely popular with the local residents as well as those as far away as Northern Virginia. It is always a sell out. Fall Hayride and Cookout - This event is held each October on the Sunday following the Oyster Roast. Children and their families participate in games, roast marshmellows and enjoy a real hayride. Christmas Crafts Family Day - Children and their parents participate in this fun-filled day of making Christmas ornaments and gingerbread houses. The children make special gifts and cards for our shut-ins Mothers Day Breakfast - The men of the parish sponsor this event for the ladies. They do the cooking and the clean-up. This is a popular day for the ladies. Church Picnic - Every August we have our Sunday worship service & annual picnic on the bank of the Pamunky River. Parishioners bring chairs & food for all to share. After the picnic there is time for swimming or kayaking. ![]() Parish Church home page
