Steven Dale Jenkins, Jr. wrote the
TEN REASONS
why alcohol was destroying his life.
He had enrolled in college and was scheduled
to begin classes in January 2001.
Steven was shot and killed in December 2000.

1. I want to change my life around while I'm still young.
2. When I drink, I get in trouble.
Never when I'm sober
3. I'm realizing how my drinking has hurt my family.
4. I put alcohol before my responsibilities.
5. If I keep abusing alcohol, I would probably be
in and out of jail. I definitely don't want that.
6. I don't want alcohol to develop into drug use.
7. I've seen friends ruin their life from alcohol & drugs.
8. I would like to finish school and go on to college
to better my life.
9. I don't want to drink and get into a car
and hurt somebody or myself.
10. I realize that if I can find ten reasons why
alcohol is destroying my life, its definitely time to
take care of the problem.

Because of the careless choices of another young man
Steven's life ended at 23 years old and he was never able to
fulfill his desire to go to college and better his life.
As his mother put it, Steven
"Graduated to Heaven with Honors".

A young man made a choice to
handle an argument with a gun.
His choices ended Steven's life.
His choices put him in prison.
Please consider your reasons.
Please consider your choices.
