(Played by Rosa Blasi) she wears her heart on her sleeve and is contantly putting her foot in her mouth.

Dr. Delgado founded the now defunct South Philly Women's Clinic to give something back to the neighborhood that raised her. When she was ten, her mother died of breast cancer and the fatherless Lu, went to live with her Puerto Rican grandmother. Lu dropped out of high school when she got pregnant and had a son, Marc. Lu and Marc's father, Bill, never married.

Hauneted by the death of her mother and given the renewed focus by her son, Lu pulled herself together and ultimately put herself through medical school. She's now struggling on both personal and professional fronts. Although she accepted a ring from wealthy fiancé Jonas Ray, she's struggling to picture herself married to him.
Lu has also just discovered that past nemesis Dylan West (Rick Schroder) is now her new medical partner. Life will be anything but dull for the good doctor.
Dr. Luisa Delgado
Dr. Dylan West
Dr. Dylan West (played by Rick Schroder) is the latest addition to the Rittenhouse Women's Health Center.

He is a talented yet presumptuous women's health specialist who joins the hospital as Dr. Lu Delgado's new partner. He's known for challenging everything and anything in order to offer the best possible patient care.

Dylan's parents met in California during the "summer of love" and never quite left the '60s. At age 18, Dylan rebelled against his family's alternative, liberal lifestyle and headed east for college, becoming more and more conservative along the way.

After graduating from Harvard Medical School, Dylan headed to Philadelphia County where he became chief resident. There he had his first run-in with Lu, then a first-year at the hospital. The two always butted heads, and Dylan knew exactly how to push Lu's buttons.

Now they're stuck together again, but what nobody knows is that Dylan's overconfidence is really a front for the pain he feels about a personal tragedy from his recent past. But Dylan has no intentions of ever revealing his secret to his colleagues.
Lana Hawkins-Receptionist
(played by Jenifer Lewis) keeps the clinic sane and Lu's spirits up.
Lana is the streetwise receptionist for the RittenHouse Women's Health Clinic.

Having quit the life of a prostitue and put her two sons through school, she now possesses a fierce determination to make a difference in other peoples' lives. Lana moved to RittenHouse with Dr. Delgado and the clinic, but has yet to tone down her act to fit the atmosphere of the prestigious hospital. She is never afraid to speak her mind, or wear what she wants.

But all who are around her recognize that she has become a source or inspiration and guidance to her coworkers (especially Lu), and the women who seek out the clinic.
Peter Riggs-RN
(played by Josh Coxx) is every woman's everyman.
Peter, a midwife, is a Jack-of-all-Trades, master of many- he's a registered nurse, midwife, acupuncturist, herbalist, massage therapist and God knows what else. He has many passions, which include his motorcycle, his garden, and his music. He has a reputation for using New Age and holistic medicines and his expertise in alternative medicine is often scoffed at by the doctors at RittenHouse. Peter is a world traveler and has dont relief work in many third world countries. Peter exudes an inner peace and self-confidence that his patients find reassuring and most women find irresistible.
Kayla Thornton-Resident
(played by Tamera Mowry) is an African-American first-year resident in emergency medicine at Rittenhouse Hospital.

Kayla has spent all of her 26 years living in Pennsylvania; this is her first stint in the big city. Growing up in rural Mount Union (population 2,500), Kayla got her love of books and boundless good humor from her mother-an elementary school teacher-and her love of nature and fierce independence from her father-gardener in the summer, snow-plower in the winter and always his own boss.

A self-starter and natural leader — even when people don't want to be led — Kayla's boundless curiosity could have led her down any number of career paths, but a family tragedy turned her focus to medicine. When she was 10 years old, her younger brother was shot by a friend playing with a hunting rifle. While the friend ran for help, Kayla desperately tried to stop the bleeding. Unfortunately, the nearest doctor was 25 miles away, so help arrived too late and her brother died. Once she finishes her residency, Kayla plans to return to her hometown to practice medicine.

(played by Nestor Carbonell) has everything going for him. He's a wealthy entrepreneur who runs several multinational corporations.

Although he's rolling in the bucks, this successful self-made man is actually a very down-to-earth guy. He comes from a large middle-class immigrant Cuban family, and it is this simple side of him that captures the heart of Dr. Lu Delgado. Jonas' romance with the doc isn't an easy one; she feels ill at ease with marrying this mega-millionaire.
