Becca's Visit to Japan! |
|
|
|
So my bestest buddy came to Japan for a few weeks to hang out with me! This was waaaaaaay back in May... and I am a very poor web mistress, so I'm just getting pictures up now. I'm not going to be real detailed yet, I just want to get the pictures UP finally. :P I'll keep working on this page over the next few days. |

Since she arrived at Narita Airport, which is just outside of Tokyo, we toured around Tokyo first. The frist night we went to my college friend Mayu's house. We had a really delicious dinner of sushi and other Japanese foods, and had a really comfy night. (: The next day, we went to Tokyo and Mayu came with us.
We shopped in the electronic district, Akihabara, and Becca bought a super-cute, pink digital camera. Mayu had to leave, so we were on our own that evening. |

Famous as it is, I hadn't been to the Tokyo Tower yet, so we decided to check it out. It started raining kinda bad on this evening though... and we had to buy an umbrella at a convenience store. Ah well.... It had stopped by the time we left.
The veiew was really pretty... and the Tower looked really cool lit up. Don't you think so? We bought some cheezy souvenirs there... he he. |

Becca shares my love of Studio Ghibli, though she hadn't seen most of the Ghibli flicks at this time. (We fixed that after we came to Numazu... hehe.) So we made a trip to the Ghibli Museum before we left Tokyo! I was all too happy to go back again. ^_^

We had our pictures taken with a Ghibli celebrity! Aren't we cool? If you've seen "Laputa: Castle in the Sky" then you should recognize this robot. ^_^ He stands on top of the museum. You can see him in the other shot! |

The Museum closes at 6, but the small cafe ("The Straw Hat Cafe") next to the Museum is open til 7. So we popped in for dinner before we left. Our drinks were so cool! Becca got the "Sitting in a Field Under the Clear Blue Sky" soda, and I got a coffee with milk, and a Totoro image drawn in chocolate on the foam! |
