OOHIRA!
Hi there, and welcome to Oohira!  Oohira is a little part of Numazu (I'm not quite sure how/why Japan divides up its cities into even smaller pieces, but Oohira is one of Numazu's 'pieces').  It is far away from the city center--about 30 minutes by bus, and is tucked into the feet of the "Numazu Alps," as they are called.  It's a really beautiful area. (:  Sometimes, when the sky is clear, I get a lovely view of Mt Fuji as I walk to school.
Here's another shot of Oohira.  If the weather had been finer, I think Mt Fuji would be visible about the center of this photo.  I have other pictures of Fuji from Oohira, but they aren't digital! ):  I'll try to get them up soon.
Oohira Junior High!
And here's my current workplace, Oohira Junior High.  The large building on the left is the gym, and the one on the right is the classroom building.
This is the stop I get off at every morning.  Complete with a vending machine with no visible source of power. (:  It serves hot and cold drinks.
To the right is the road I walk down to get to OJH.  Yeah... I walk about as far as you can see, to get there!  It takes about 10 minutes.
There's another pair of vending machines near my stop to go home... you can see the sign--they sell DVDs, videos, and books.  But not the kind you'd want your kids to read.... I'd heard about these machines, but this was my first time seeing one. (:  And I found them in "middle of nowhere" Oohira, no less.  On Friday, someone was there restocking the machines... so I guess they must get used! (:
