My winter vacation!

Jeremy and I went on an 8-day whirlwind tour of Southern Japan!

Day 1 (Fri, 12/26) Stopped in Himeji to see the prettiest castle in Japan! Checked into our 'hotel' and then visited Miyajima Island, to see the famous 'floating toori' gate.

Day 2 (Thu, 12/27) Stayed in Hiroshima for 2 nights.  We spent this day touring the city--we visited the Peace Park, several memorials, museums, and also did some shopping.  It was a lovely city (and not very crowded!).

Day 3 (Sat, 12/28) Traveled down to Fukuoka, on Kyushu Island, to visit my friends from college: Aiko and Takashi.  It was a beautiful city!  And we ate delicious Kyushu Ramen!  Thanks guys!

Day 5 (Mon, 12/30) We met up with Madoka!  We had lunch together in the Kyoto Train Station (behind us).  It was so nice to see her again!

Temple/Shrine hopping in the Kyoto Area!  We visited a total of 18 in 5 days!  Whew!!

Day 6 (Tue, 12/31) Awashiyama Monkey Park in Kyoto.  Jeremy HAD to see the monkeys. (:  So we went!
