LATEST AOR NEWS -2-

UPDATED 26TH OF FEBRUARY 2000

TAKARA - Takara have almost completed their new album, which is said to be the bands best work yet. However the band are still searching for a new frontman. So if you think you have what it takes, then email NTAK1@aol.com for info on where to send your demos and bio's to. And tell them Strutterzine sent you.

FRONTIERS RECORDS - FRONTIERS RECORDS and NOW & THEN PRODUCTIONS are proud to confirm the signing of not one but TWO exciting new projects !!!

The first one sees the come back to melodic hard rock of Mr. DAVID GLEN EISLEY !!! David has been working in the past two decades with some of the best names of the melodic hard rock scene and made his
reputation singing on the first two GIUFFRIA albums. Later his career turned to more raspy and hard sounds with DIRTY WHITE BOY first and MURDERER'S ROW later. He also worked on a Frontiers Records album two years ago: "Nothing Is Sacred" by STREAM. With this new solo project - which will feature such prestigious guests like LANNY CORDOLA (Giuffria, Magdallan, House Of Lords), EARL SLICK (Dirty White Boy/Silver Condor/David Bowie), CRAIG GOLDIE (Dio/Giuffria) on guitars; CHUCK WRIGHT (Quiet Riot/Giuffria) on bass and PAT TORPEY (Mr. Big) on drums, David intends to come back to his melodic roots. The style of the album is therefore announced in pure HOUSE OF LORDS meets FOREIGNER/JOURNEY sounds !!!

The other signing is a band project brainchild of bassist/singer BILLY GREER of KANSAS/THE SIGN (ex STREETS), called SEVENTH KEY. Billy introduced the opportunity to the label to work on songs in the style STREETS meets ASIA/KANSAS (In The Spirit Of Things era) with a few friends like STEVE MORSE (Deep Purple, Kansas, Dixie Dregs), STEVE WALSH (Kansas, Streets), MIKE SLAMER (Streets, Steelhouse Lane), RICHARD WILLIAMS (Kansas) and others. Some of the songs which are set to be released on the album are "Every Time It Rains" (written with Steve Morse), "Missy" (featuring the new talent of David Manion) and the new version of "Cold Hearted Woman" a song which Billy brought in
STREETS when he joined the band.

THE SIGN - A new name change for the super band featuring Mark Mangold, Randy Jackson, Terry Brock, Billy Greer and Bobby Rondinelli. SIGNS is no more ! The final and (hopefully definitive) name for the band that occurred after the requests of other bands named likewise is the more mystical THE SIGN.
Recordings of the debut album are almost over and mixing is scheduled for the next week.

PRIOR PARK - The hottly tipped aor/hard rockers Prior Park have been asked to perform live on a national tour featruing the top MP3 bands. The events are being organised by the AngelCiti International Music Market, and will showcase some of the hottest bands around from all genre's of the music scene. The band will be performing their sets in from of major national recording labels. More news about this even as it comes in.

MR. HATE - Former MR.HATE vocalist CARSTEN SCHULZ is working on the following projects:

SANVOISEN: One of Germany's top progressive bands are currently working on their third release and are rehersing new material with Carsten.

FOREVER: Carsten is still with the German aorsters and the record is set for an April release. FOREVER play pure melodic rock a'la HOTWIRE, JADED HEART, FAIR WARNING.

THE SYNDICATE: Are working on material with Carsten that is said to be in the vein of RAINBOW and YNGWIE MALMSTEEM.

WILDEST DREAM: This band are hottly tipped as the next big one, I have already read exciting reports on the internet about these guys with the band already being compared to HAREM SCAREM and DOKKEN and the project is a collaboration with L.A. based guitarist Vinny V. Hopefully an interview will follow soon.

DOMAIN: The former German epic hard rock band return for their comeback album with Carsten handling the vocals.

DAS - Hard rockers DAS are set to release their new album in March.

UPDATED 23RD OF FEBRUARY 2000

STRUTTER'ZINE - A few updates on the site. I uploaded a bunch of new reviews as well as one new interview with the independent melodic rockband LOVE HUNTER. And I thought it was time to upload the PLAYLIST page, so I did an update on that page as well. Check out what your editors have been playing a lot the last couple of months. Still working on some new reviews for the CLASSIC AOR PAGE, I know it's been awhile since I updated that page, but I promise soon a couple of huge updates on that page.

UPDATED 19TH OF FEBRUARY 2000

TOD HOWARTH - Former 707/ACE FREHLEY member Tod Howarth has finished his new solo-record which will be released in two weeks from now. The CD will be titled 'West of eight' and hopefully pretty soon a review.

WHITESNAKE/VAN HALEN - Whitesnake are ready to issue their new album via EMI. This is funny as I thought their "Restless Heart" album was meant to be the very last Whitesnake album. In the words of David Coverdale "Here We Go Again". Other news is that David has denied the rumours that he has worked with Alex and Eddie Van Halen, and that the interview recently posted on the internet is totally false, he did go on to say that if the VH guys approached him then he would consider working on a project.
On the VH front, it looks as if the band will officially announce next month their reunion with Diamond Dave. This is gonna be the big one!!!!

AC/DC - The Australian hard rock heroes have completed their new album which has the running title of "Stiff Upper Lip". The album was made at BRYAN ADAMS' studio in Vancouver between July and November 1999 and was roduced by Angus' brother George Young. The album is said to take on the bands earlier bluesy roots as well as the familar AC/DC formular. No release date has been given yet, but rumours
suggest the band are lining up festival shows this summer, with some big name bands, with IRON MAIDEN being rumoured to be one and GUNS 'N' ROSES being named as another.

WARRANT - Guitarist Rick Steier and drummer Danny Wagner have left the band. Mike Fasano and Billy Morris have been recruited.

BON JOVI - Fans are invited to watch the band record their new album at the bands official website http://www.bonjovi.com

RATT - Lead singer Stephen Pearcy has left the band to pursue his ARCADE venture. Silly man!!

WARRIOR SOUL - The much prasied band featuring Kory Clarke have reformed.

MAMAS BOYS - Look set to reform under a new name in the near future.

KICK - Are working on a new album

UPDATED 12TH OF FEBRUARY 2000

STRUTTER'ZINE - I just updated the INTERVIEWSPAGE with two new interviews. You can find interviews with LOCHINVAR, JAIME KYLE and NETWERK 9. NETWERK 9 is probably better known as ARTICA who put out the wonderful CD 'As it should be' a couple years ago. The band is hard at work on a new CD and this will be a pleasure for fans of pure AOR, because the new material is huge and sounds like a mix between SURVIVOR, JOURNEY and KANSAS.

I have also updated the REVIEWSPAGES, but also the LATEST NEW AOR BANDS page has had a couple of huge updates the last couple of days. Check it out to see which new bands are preparing to attack the AOR scene, hopefully most of them will be featured on our REVIEWSPAGES the next couple of weeks. More interviews and reviews will be uploaded next week.

OUTRIDER - Another 'lost' AOR band who are planning to release a new CD. This band released in 1991 the CD 'No way out', an album with some great AOR tunes. Apparantly the band released a new CD in 1995 titled 'Long Time Comin' in a different line-up and are now planning to release a new CD. I was doubting this was the same band, but when I saw they were compared to FOREIGNER, JOURNEY and saw their songtitles who were also on their 'No way out', I knew this was OUTRIDER for sure. Hopefully I can get in touch with these guys and bring you more info on their upcoming new release.

RUBY FAITH AND THE WAITING WORLD - Strutter was raving for a long time about this wonderful female fronted AOR band and now it has happened. The band has signed with AOR HEAVEN who will release their best of CD here in Europe. There will be 3 more tracks added and the CD-artwork and bootleg will totally be refreshed. Looks like AOR HEAVEN is bringing us some very promising releases this year, because besides this release, we can also look forward to releases of T'BELL, STREET TALK, FRONTLINE and even a couple more AOR winners.

DAKOTA - AOR legends DAKOTA just released two new CDs through THOUGHTSCAPE SOUNDS. A new studio-album and a live recording dating back to the early 80s with unique material. Here's the offical press release of these two releases:

"Thoughtscape Sounds is proud to announce the release of the new Dakota CD "Little Victories". This CD will be released between February 15th and February 28th of 2000. For the first time since 1984 the band has special guest Bill Champlin recording with the band. Excellent songwriting and production work make this new album the band's finest effort to date. Band members Rick Manwiller, Jerry Hludzik, Eli Hludzik and Jon Lorrance have shown what a little extra patience can squeeze out of a recording. We would like to thank everyone for their patience and we apologize for the delay. The post recording production took a little longer than anticipated. We feel like everyone will agree that it was worth the wait. The privileged few who have heard the CD thus far have all agreed it is fantastic.

Since We have your attention, we would also like to announce that we have just released Dakota "Three Livetimes Ago". This is a Limited Edition release which chronicles the band's illustrious history, and comes on the 20th anniversary of their 1980 tour with the band Queen. This CD has 13 live tracks and 4 previously unreleased studio tracks from this era. This is an excellent time capsule of the band's earlier work as the Jerry-Kelly Band as well as the first Dakota album. Since neither of these releases has ever been available on CD, this release is currently the only way to hear this material as well as a few bonus songs.   We are negotiating licensing and distribution for the rest of the world.

Anyone interested in a licensing or distribution deal can contact Thoughtscape Sounds at the following information. Thoughtscape Sounds 101 North 10th Street Suite A Fort Smith, Ar 72901 e-mail   thoughts@ipa.net Fax 501-646-6217 Phone 501-783-6868 website http://www.thoughtscape.com   You can reach the band for comments or interviews at:e-mail dakota@damall.com"

Next week I will upload reviews on both albums.

MTM MUSIC - Here's some MTM MUSIC NEWS...

One more week to go before the release of the new mighty and awesome release from DANGER DANGER. The respons is amazing and the interest is big ! The webs best, biggest and most visited site when it comes to hardrock, melodicrock.com gave the album 100 out of 100 review... which can give you a hint what an album the Danger boys created.

Matthew Gerrard is in the last stage of mixing the new VON GROOVE album "Driving Off The Edge". - There are no ballads this time around, just pure energy and groove. We have finally found our style ...classic melodic rock with mordern and vital groove sez guitarist Mladen. The tracks to appear on the album: Slide / Cold To You / South Of Zero / My Groove / Jack The Riffer / Stone Soldier / Driving off The Edge / I Found Heaven / Control / Blue Murder Blue Day.

Also Roger Scott Craig finished the recordings of 101 SOUTH´s debut album. The final tracks for the album are: Freeway Ride / Run Like A Tiger / We Took The Wrong Road / There's A Boat On The Water / Nowhere To Run / Your Razor Is Sharp / Casualty of Love / She Walks On Water / Your So Cold / Nobody Moves A Mountain / Theres a Train Coming / Live For The Moment.

HOUSE OF SHAKIRA which recently were signed to MTM, will start recording their new (the bands third) album during March. - There seem to be big interest from the melodic rok fans all over the world in our new album as were recieving lots of mails from all different places sez guitarist Anders Lundstrom, and were going to give it our very best to create the ultimate House Of Shakira album...

MICHAEL MORALES, VELOCITY and GUILD OF AGES has all been added to appear playing at the UltraSound conference/fair in Las Vegas in May. Also MTM rep´s will be coming over to US for this happening.

SLAMER-THOMPSON are working hard on songs for the duo´s much talked about debut album...Among songs that being considered is Gotta Hold On Me, Dust In The Light, Wasting Time and All Over Me.

Ricky Phillips is in the last phases of the recordings of the debut FRICTION album and hopes to start the mix sometime early March. Release is scheduled for this spring. Expect nothing less than pure melodic heaven !!

David Prater is hard at work preparing for the DIVING FOR PEARLS album. - I am going through material which Danny Malone and company written through the years to see if there's any cool ones or that can work as ideas to create new songs....We want to be sure to have that set of 10-11 songs that forms that dynamic and perfect set to be called a genuin album !! It's important that we have that strong songs as the first Diving For Pearls album had like "Gimme Your Good Lovin", "Have You Forgotten" or what ever song you pick says David Prater. MTM is mighty happy to get the chance to do this album and to get the chance to work with phenomenal producer David Prater.   BRETT WALKER´s album has recieved superb reactions since it´s release, especially from the Scandinavinan territorries where it looks positive that Brett will be doing a club tour later this spring.

The METROPOLIS album is being released through Nippon Crown in Japan in March and it includes one bonus track "Love & Desire".

Z-RECORDS - And here's some Z RECORDS NEWS...

VAUGHN:   The guys have now completely finished recording their forthcoming debut album, the title of which has been changed to "Soldier and Sailor on the riverside". In addition a special Limited edition 3 track single will be released on April 3rd 2000 within Europe.

UPDATED 6TH OF FEBRUARY 2000

STRUTTER'ZINE - Cool stuff on our PICTUREGALLERY. Thanks to Stephen Allen, some cool new pictures are available from the bands FUSICIAN and DAY ONE. Two very rare underground AOR/Pomp acts which I still need to review for our CLASSIC AOR PAGE. Check out the beautiful pics of these underground acts from the past. Not many reviews yet, because I am very busy working on reviews on a bunch of new AOR bands which should be uploaded in the next week.

NEW LABEL - Ego Trip Entertainment is proud to announce the formation of the Independent Label Alliance. The ILA will prove to be the preeminent outlet for independent labels and acts, providing street level and grass roots marketing, internet marketing, distribution and retail marketing and label consultation for new and upcoming artists.

Flagship participants include Nightmare Records (Balance Of Power), Kivel Records (Attraction, Adrienne Gale, Damn Cheetah), Cellar Records (Vehement), and upcoming releases through Dreamscape Records Group, including the debut album from solo artist Joe Robinson. The Independent Label Alliance is non genre specific and can be reached at: 480-827-8686

FAIR WARNING - FRONTIERS RECORDS and NOW & THEN PRODUCTIONS with immense excitement, proudly announce one of the MOST PRESTIGIOUS signings of their whole story : FAIR WARNING !

The new partnership between the band and the label will start with the release of the eagerly awaited new album "Four" which is due out in Europe and America on Frontiers Records in late march 2000. The tracklisting of "Four" is as follows :

Heart On The Run - radio single and first video
Through The Fire
Break Free
Forever
Tell Me I’m Wrong
Dream
I Fight
Time Will Tell
Eyes Of Love
Find My Way
Night Falls
Wait
For The Young

The album will be launched with an aggressive campaign which will include the use of the biggest promotional company for hard rock and heavy metal music in Germany : CMM, already responsible for such acts like IRON MAIDEN and HELLOWEEN. Another success of the strongest partnership in melodic rock and another gift to all the fans of quality rock music in Europe and America !

BAND CENTRAL STATION - The AOR sensation BAND CENTRAL STATION have changed plans for the release of their 5-song CD. This CD will be deleted. Instead of this EP we can look forward to the release of a full CD titled 'Now arriving' which will be finished mid April. The CD will probably be an attack to become independent AOR CD of the year. The story reminds me all very much of New Jersey AORsters NORWAY. BCS play the same style as them and NORWAY also first released a wonderful demo tape and then the independent CD of the year and they are now finishing their first European release. It would not suprise me if BAND CENTRAL STATION will happen the same thing, so a record deal with an European label later this year. In the meantime, keep your eye on BCS, because they are the purest AOR band around these days and they are not even on signed to MTM or Frontiers yet!

NORWAY - It's only a matter of time, but on the 6th of March NORWAY will be releasing their long-awaited second CD which will be their first European release. The CD will be released through Frontiers Records and will feature the following AOR Classics:

Givin’ It All
One Night Alone
Someday, Someway
I Don’t Wanna Love You
Can’t Live Without You
Sendin’ A Prayer (A Song For David)
When You Close Your Eyes
Cry Baby
Find My Way Home
Hole In My Heart
Heaven In Your Arms
.

UPDATED 2ND OF FEBRUARY 2000

STRUTTER'ZINE - Not that much news lately, and also the interviews attack have settled down a bit, but in the coming weeks more reviews will be uploaded as well as a couple of interviews and also we have a lot of news waiting for you to be read. Finally, I am also working on some past-reviews for the CLASSIC AOR PAGE which should be added later this month. Included will be a lot of reviews on obscure AOR stuff from the past.

I will also start doing reviews on obscure AOR/Rock compilation LPs from the past. An area which is not noticed by many, but is very interesting because in the 80s a lot of radiostations in the USA released compilation LPs which featured a bunch of underground and independent (demo) AOR/Melodic Rockbands that never broke through or did break through years later although nobody knew the band (or artist) back then. Anyway, keep checking the CLASSIC AOR PAGE towards the end of this month for some new reviews on old 'rare' stuff.

NEAT MUSIC - The following are due via NEAT MUSIC:

Feb: The Flower Kings - Alive On Planet Earth
Platypus - Ice Cycles

March: Transatlantic - SMPTe

Coming Soon: The Mustard Seeds - Red
Pallas - The Sentinel & The Wedge
Spock's Beard - Live

UPDATED 26TH OF JANUARY 2000

FRONTIERS RECORDS & NOW & THEN PRODUCTIONS - NOW&THEN proudly announce the signing of the band who provoked an earthquake in the european melodic hard rock business - hailing from Norway - STREET LEGAL !

STREET LEGAL is a power trio featuring consummate musicians like Bjorn Boge (DaVinci) on bass and vocals, Bjorn Olav Lauvdal on drums and Ken Ingwersen (producer of the last TNT’s album "Transistor") on guitars and already released their debut album on PONY CANYON in Japan with enormous critical success! For the uninitiated, the sound of this incredible band - who already supported in the past few months the norwegian legs of the tours of W.A.S.P. and THIN LIZZY - can be described as an hot and devastating mixture of WHITESNAKE, BLUE MURDER and THIN LIZZY !

At Rockefeller- Norways biggest rockclub - as support act for W.A.S.P. In front of 1100 fans they completely outplayed W.A.S.P., where taken off stage after 5 songs,- and the press wrote rave reviews: «Iron Maiden threatened Kiss in 1980, Clawfinger showed muscle before Anthrax in 1990, Skunk Anansie blew away Therapy? in 1995. In 1999 Street Legal outplayed W.A.S.P.» - Stig Myhre- NETTPULS.

"Street Legal should be the next Norwegian act to make a remarkable impact on an international level" - Jan Dahle - SCREAM MAGAZINE. The european & USA edition of the album will feature one bonus track added to the japanese version called "Follytown". Release date is planned for late february/early march. Live gigs are being planned for april in BENELUX as THIN LIZZY supporting act. Another incredible signing by the united anglo-italian workforce ! !

UPDATED 22ND OF JANUARY 2000

STREET TALK - STUDIO REPORT :

The Swedish AOR act STREET TALK have now started the recordings of the forthcoming second album "Transition" at the Soundcreation Studio in Bollnas, Sweden with Keyboard player Fredrik Bergh as the Producer. The recordings are going very well, most of the musical backgrounds are recorded and vocalist Göran Edman will start recording lead vocals for the album this week, followed by recordings of Lead guitars and Percussion. The album will be mixed during February and is scheduled for release through POINT MUSIC/AOR HEAVEN in April.

180 - AOR newcomers 180 are still hard at work on their first full-length CD which will be very interested for people that like 80s typed keyboard AOR like STEVE PERRY, STRANGEWAYS, 8084, JOURNEY, GIUFFRIA... Expect the release of the CD sometime in March.

SECOND CHANCE - Another much praised AOR/Radiorockband who are also working on their first full-length CD, just like 180. It will probably be out soon, so expect a review of this in the coming weeks. Interesting detail I just found out is that the leader of this band used to hang out with one of the members of the legendary Pomprockband ROADMASTER and saw them a 100 times performing live. It seems like ROADMASTER was very popular in the midwest back in the late 70s/early 80s because the past few months more bands out of that area are telling me about the time they went and see (and sometimes opened up) for ROADMASTER. That's pretty cool to hear. If only I could trace one of the original members of that band. Who knows what happens in the near future!

UPDATED 15TH OF JANUARY 2000

TALON - American hard rockers TALON have now signed with Frontiers/Now And Then records, formerly known as VOXEN the band are currently busy demoing and writing a new album which is due for release before the end of the year. The band also have a new vocalist in the shape of Michael O'Mara. These guys are BIG news!!!

THRILLS - The CD of the millennium has been released a few days ago in the USA. It is the release of the third album of the American band THRILLS. This is also their first CD release. The album was recorded more than 15 years ago and got never released. A shame, because this is one of the best records in the AOR/Pomprock history. Anyway, thanks to Stephen B. Allen a label in the USA picked up the master tapes and released it as the first CD of THRILLS.

The label which is releasing this masterpiece is SONGHAUS MUSIC/REWIND. This label is guaranteed for some awesome re-issues on CD of lost AOR Classsics from the 80s. Expect releases of STAN BUSH (his debut), I-TEN, SILVER CONDOR debut and also new albums by BRITTON, PHIL VINCENT and SOJOURN. This is just the beginning of a really cool 2000. Next week a review of the THRILLS CD, hold your breath because it is going to be a huge review!

Next week interviews with JAIME KYLE, BAND CENTRAL STATION, JUST JAY, HOBBIT, ROBIN BROCK and more to come. Hopefully in the coming months interviews with AVALON, PATRIARCH, CITADEL, RAIL... USG RECORDS - Now it is official, but we knew it for some time now, German rock label USG Records has gone bankrupt.

UPDATED 4TH OF JANUARY 2000

STRUTTER'ZINE - We survived the millenniumbreak! The website is still there. The only thing that got damaged was our beloved MESSAGEBOARD. It seems like the server of this page had given up the ghost and you only saw a blank page when you clicked the link the past few days. I also didn't had a clue what had happened, but I just checked and the board is up and running again. Hopefully the problems are now solved and the board works again as it should work. Otherwise I will look for a new messageboard to put to this site, because a site without a board is not possible.

Please check our LOOK BACK AT 1999 PAGE. Find out what we think are the best releases of 1999, the best songs of 1999, most promising acts for 2000 etc. Just click and see! Any lists from you, the reader, are also welcome and will be printed over there.

Just did a reviewsupdate too, so check the REVIEWSPAGE too for some hot new AOR reviews. In the coming weeks new interviews with JAIME KYLE, BRAZEN ABBOTT, JUST JAY, STONE ANGEL, PASSION RISK and some very well-known AOR musicians, but more info on that later on. And if everything goes well also our CLASSIC AOR PAGE will be updated after being down for a month, I'll have stories coming up on STORMWAVE and PASSENGER. Hopefully many new reviews of obscure AOR items from the past will follow. I am working on ALPHA, THE AFFAIR (1987), HARPO...

Also our LATEST NEW AOR BANDS PAGE has been updated, check it out to see the latest hot new bandnames of the independent AOR scene. Well, I hope you enjoy the first update of this new millennium and remember STRUTTER'ZINE will continue bringing you the latest tips from the underground AOR scene this year and beyond!

AVALON (Canada) - Yes, this is the same band that released in the 70s the LP 'Voice of life' which once was held as a collector's item in the Pomprockworld until it got re-issued on CD last decade. Well, some hot news on this guy. Take a deep breath and read this: AVALON has reformed and this year we will see a brand new release consisting of unreleased material. The band existed between 1975 and 1979 and it seems they did a lot of recordings. The unreleased material is now being used for a new CD. This should be something for SONGHAUS/AERIA to release worldwide. Anyway, they have a website running at http://www.mp3.com/avalon_canada.htm

UPDATED 30TH OF DECEMBER 1999:

STRUTTER'ZINE - Yes, another big update, I'll call it the millenniumbreak-update this time, although we are not going into the next millennium tomorrow, because the next millennium starts on the 1st of January 2001 and not on the 1st of January 2000 like everyone thinks! Anyway, I still call it the millenniumbreak-update and this update includes a bunch of new reviews, news and some very interesting interviews.

I had two very long interesting interviews with JOHN TAGLIERI (a new sensational AOR performer) and CRYSTAL (a pure AOR/Melodic Pomprockband that released 3 wonderful records between 1985 and 1993, but never got the attention they deserved, hopefully this interview helps them a little). Interesting fact is that these two AORsters may easily end up on the release schedules of any of the 4 big AOR labels over here in Europe, because they both are up to it and also musically they both fit in the style of the European AOR labels. Let's see what 2000 may bring for them!

Also two interviews by Nicky Baldrian are added, including CONDITIONED RESPONSE, a new Melodic Hardrockband. Next week regular updates again with new reviews, interviews and news. But also our CLASSIC AOR PAGE will finally get a new update, stories on PASSENGER, MERE MORTALS, CODE BLUE, STORMWAVE, CARIOT are on the way. And of course 2000 will see many more new AOR and Melodic Rockbands on our site. If you check our site often in the new year, I can guarantee you that you will fully be informed on the underground AOR scene and will not miss any AOR band.

Oh yeah, our reviewsindexpage has some dead links as well as many reviews still need to be added. Next month I will work on this and hopefully in a few weeks I will upload the updated reviewsindexpage, so everyone can find any review of this site asap. And in the coming weeks I will also upload 'our look back at 1999 charts' as well as a 'TOP 100 AOR ALBUMS OF ALL TIMES', but that will all be done next year.

Thanks to all of you this site is one of the most popular AOR sites on the internet and I hope next year will see even better figures of my site. I'll try my best to improve the lay-out, but it's the information that counts and I can definitely guarantee you 2000 will bring even more info for the AOR/Melodic Rockfan. This site will see many more reviews, interviews and news from the AOR world in 2000. So just keep on checking STRUTTER'ZINE WEBSITE and you will fully be informed on AOR music! Now I can only hope the site survives the millenniumbreak and everything still works from the 1st of January 2000 on. We'll wait and see. If not, then I'll be working on a new site and upload it at the end of next month. Whatever happens, Strutter'zine Website will continue in 2000!

Best wishes to everyone for 2000!

UPDATED 24TH OF DECEMBER 1999:

STRUTTER'ZINE - It's Friday the 24th of December 1999 and this means it is time for the big update on our site. Check out the REVIEWSPAGES, because it features between the 20 and 30 new CD reviews. I could not find the time to write more, but if you check the site next week, you will notice more reviews on some obscure AOR/Melodic Rockbands. For now, you can already read a bunch of great reviews done by your webmaster Gabor and co-editor Nicky. And as I just told you, more reviews of great new indie AOR bands are coming up next week. The reviews keep on coming on this site!

But not only the reviewspage has been updated, also the INTERVIEWSPAGE got a HUGE update! Over there you can read between 5 and 10 new interviews, including JADED HEART, NIGEL HOBBS from WALK THE WIRE, the Female AOR sensation RUBY FAITH AND THE WAITING WORLD and last but least there are also interviews with 3 major Pompbands from the late 70s. You can read interviews with BLUEBEARD, STARCASTLE and JAUGERNAUT, in other words: POMPTASTIC!

The CLASSIC AOR PAGE didn't get an update, but that's because there is too less time in one day to also make reviews and stories for that page. However, expect new Classic AOR reviews in the next millennium. Speaking of the millenniumbreak, I will probably do another huge update on the day before 2000, so if all the computers crash and the website is still there, there will be enough info on the site for a week or two. These weeks are probably the most hectic weeks ever, so let's hope in a month or so everything will be normal and this site gets daily 'small' updates again. Anyway, enjoy this week's huge update and keep on visiting the site in the next millennium, so you will be up-to-date on the underground AOR scene!

CRYSTAL - A few weeks back I was suprised to see the bandname CRYSTAL appearing on the MP3.COM site. I visited their site and saw to my surprise that the legendary underground AOR heroes are back! For anyone who doesn't know CRYSTAL, they were a pure AOR band in the style of PROPHET and WHITE SISTER. The band released 3 wonderful EPs between 1985 and 1993. After 1993 we never heard something of the band or its members until now.

You can read a complete story on CRYSTAL somewhere else on our site, just CLICK HERE. The interview will first be placed in our magazine, so if you want to read that you need to purchase a copy of our upcoming issue. But if you want to know how CRYSTAL sounded, they were better than most MTM MUSIC releases, then go to their website at: http://crystalmusic.home.att.net and e-mail them at: crystalmusic@excite.com
