Rock Of Ages are a
German melodic hard rock band that bare similarites to Def
Leppard, Deep Purple, Winger and Bonfire, the band have a female
vocalist Beate Blisnjuk who has an incredible vocal range.
Unfortunatley Beate was unavailable for this interview as she was
allegedly drying her hair, so I caught up with founder member
Axel Stender.
Rock Of Ages came into being after Axel decide to start up his
own band "After I played around with a selection of bands ,
I decided to go it alone and set up a home studio and wrote a few
songs myself." begins Axel "Around the time of 1997 I
came to the conclusion to go further with my own projects. Action
gives reaction and Rock of Ages was born."
Axel is inspired by life and is determined to develop the bands
own sound and style "All the songs have meanings for
us" explains Axel "some more than others. Everything is
written on the basis of fact, some are personal experiences and
some are observations of the happenings in the world today, past
and present for example " Broken Heart" or " When
the children cry". "
In his early years
Axel was always into guitar playing "Music rescues the soul.
You can put your total sphere of emotions from hate , anger ,fear
and passion into one direction. When there is a positive response
from others hearing the music we have created , thats very
satisfying feedback."
Axel then met up with Beate "We met at the beginning of last
year, I put an advertisement in a Music Magazine looking for a
talented singer and found what I was looking for,the rest is
history !"
Axe has other dreams and vision's to "I'd like to be the
owner of a Jaguar, to get my driving licence back in the near
future so I can sack the chauffeur !" he laughs. Axel
reveals some secrets about Beate "You should listen to Beate
when she`s doing her warming up, It is hard to explain, but if
you would have the chance to listen to her you would'nt`t believe
it ! For example the waking up lesson it sounds like
yawning" laughs Axel.
On a final note and a total change of subject Axel would like to
share his opinion about the legendary Oasis and Robbie Williams
entanglement "Fuck Oasis and praise to Mr Robbie Williams
!!! he`s harder than the other twat. and we bet a 1000 DM that
Robie knocks him out " he laughs.
