Washington Photos, Too
Here’s a pretty awesome cloud formation over Mt. Rainier at sunset.  Just another case of being at the right place at the right time.  Of course a real photographer (like my friend Bob Butterfield) would spend hours or even days to get just the right photo that would sell, but I’m content to just catch a good one here or there to share with my friends.  The professional photography world is much too competitive for me (but more power to you Bob for making headway in it!)
I thought this creek had a certain artistic look to it with its smoothly flowing sides.  It’s a beautiful creek that flows directly under on the bridges along hwy 706 through Mt. Rainier National Park.
One of the positive aspects of the cloudy weather in the northwest area is the possibility of seeing views like this.  This was at a little before sunset just north of Eatonville, WA.
Here I am with some new friends at the 100th Puyallup Fair in Washington.  It was a great time of riding rides and eating some wild foods (like their famous scones, great bar-b-q and a lot more that we sampled).
This giraffe made from old recycled metal pieces was an interesting sight while traveling between Eatonville and Mt. Rainier’s Longmire entrance.  He seemed to have a definite personality to him as did the two dozen or more other pieces of welded art in Dan Klennert’s outdoor showcase called “Recycled Spirits of Iron” along hwy 706 just east of Elbe, WA. If you ever get out that way, make sure you stop by and take a walk through his fantastic collection of sculptures.  The only cost is a donation at the entrance.

It was after seeing this collection that I began considering getting involved in art of some form or another.  I haven’t really decided what I’d like to do, but I hope to start on it sometime in the near future.  Of course I would have to be settled in one place for a little while before I could start something like that, so no telling how long it will before I actually get started.  If anyone has any suggestions on particular types of art forms, please feel free to let me know.
