Leslie Wellman Larsen Memorial Scholarship Fund
The establishment of this fund by the members of the NSDAR, St. Tammany Chapter is to show appreciation and to honor the Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Friend, Neighbor, School Volunteer, Girl Scout Volunteer, Community Volunteer, Realtor and many countless other ways that Leslie Larsen touched so many of our lives.
This scholarship fund will be awarded to an eligible college student to pursue a degree in Education with the intent of
teaching American History.
Scholarship Fund Rules
The Leslie Wellman Larsen Memorial Scholarship Fund, established on February 2, 2001, through donations, St. Tammany Chapter, Louisiana. The fund shall be used for one Leslie Wellman Larsen Memorial Scholarship per year for a student who meets the following criteria:
1. The applicant must be a US citizen, by birth or naturalization.
2. The applicant must live in the United States.
3. The applicant must be admitted to the "school of education" at an accredited college or university in the United States.
4. The applicant must pursue a degree in Education with the intent of teaching American History.
5. The applicant must plan to teach in the United States.
6. In selecting the recipient, preference will be given to children and grandchildren of current DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) and SAR (Sons of the American Revolution) members.
8. Only the earnings from the principal may be used for granting of awards with the principal remaining intact.
9. To receive the scholarship application, a self-addressed, stamped envelope with the request should be sent to the St. Tammany Chapter Scholarship Chairperson.
10. Applications will be processed through the St. Tammany Chapter, NSDAR, Scholarship Committee.
