Hi there! So I had a fab birthday yesterday. I had three courses (YES 3 COURSES) 1st time in bloody months. We even drank wine out of glasses, made of actual glass. Stu bought me a cool necklace, or as they say in Derby Neck ---- Lace..... Thanks for all the texts and Ecards. Much appreciated as receiving only one card on your birthday makes you feel a little billy no mates. We off to Veracruz tomorrow, after spending Day of the Dead here, (lasts from 31st October until midnight on my birthday), it was madness with devils and skulls everywhere, but best birthday/festival atmosphere possible. Beats start of term at school and rain HuH! After Veracruz its mex city and then Peru. Exciting!!!! Happy Birthday Donald for tomorrow, have a good one and have a pint down the Top House on me. xx Same congrats go to Nath and Hannah, welcome to the world Oscar.........xx adios amigas!!xx |

Hello everyone. long one today i have to stay awake due to a mad flight and a too long afternoon nap. We survived Mexico City, one of the most dangerous cities in the world, and boy do you get that vibe. Stu describes it as a city at a rolling boil just ready to spill over!!! The city was rammed with cars, pollution and amazing buildings, so a lot like London really. We went to the anthropolgical (is that spelt right!!) museam and as we entered a bunch of school kids surrounded us and started saying "Hello", "Good Day" and "What is your name?". V.funny, they wantted to know where we were from, Stu was surrounded and we all know how much Stu loves kids ()heheheheheh) It seemed like a classic teacher trick where the kids were annoying them so they spotted us and said go practice your english on them. A bit like when Jonesey sent the kids in the opposite direction to the rides she wanted to go on in Eurodisney. So the museam was rammed with school parties and i had this feeling i was being watched and followed. It turned out that i wasnŽ paranoid and kids were staring at me and following me around the museam. I came to the conclusions that either .... 1)I was giving off a teacher/role model vibe and that my deep affinity with children was leading to a pied Piper scenario (but not in a murderous way) 2)they thought i was one of the following personalities a)Gwen Stefani (obviously) b)Britney Spears c)Barbie or 3)They had rarely seen wierd looking blondes with freckles. Stu came to the conclusions that.... 1)He was finally going to earn some cash via the medium of work by selling tickets to look at me. 2)They thought I was one of The Muppets... I quote... "ItŽs the bulging Eyes, short limbs and strange walk." I really love him I finally decided that the kids were staring coz i look like a muppet version of Gwen Stefani.... And now weŽe in Peru waiting to do the Inca Trail and sipping Coca tea. This morning wee were on an airport floor in Lima, heads on backpacks and my waterproof coat over our heads to block the strip lighting out, so weŽe pretty knackered. Hold tight coz iŽ gonna do my high points low points of Mexico... High Points. 1) The hippies at Pelenque and the ruins set in jumgle, just stunning (the ruins not the hippies) 2)Running away from Wilma, never has to flee from weather before so was a once in a lifetime experience. 3) Stuies little face when he arrived back from diving in the caves, he was sooooo happy. 4)Playing mad games with some of the street seller kids. 5) Jon the crazy ozzie who still flies long haul cattle class even though he has DVT. Low Points 1) the amount of old women and mentally ill people on the streets. 2)Big Cities and pollution. 3)Having to leave beach early, 4)Watching street theatre and then noticing the smell of glue, Glue sniffers also watching street theatre in Mexico City. In conclusion I loved it and will definately return. |
