(Separation of « neighbour » and « hood » - « capot » is the « bonnet » of a car, or « hood » in American English. Incorrect use of « rester », to stay).

I didn’t expect this to happen
(Use of « fait » to mean « did », and literal « this to happen » rather than the subjunctive).

(Use of noun « matière » rather than verb « to matter », negative around verb « to do »).

(« Bidon » is a water can).

(« Puits » is a water well, " ne… jamais" should go round a verb).
What the pupil wrote :

What he/she tried to write :
I dragged myself out of my room at 7.30
(Pupil looked up « drag » in the dictionary, and found the expression for « drag artist », also « transvestite »).

(« Duvet » is made of feathers, also called « down »).
