Go West With SAC - WINERY TOUR - 27 May 2006
So
you're interested in a day
away from the fun of study, books and the library. Well the SAC is proud
to present its Go West Winery Tour next Saturday 27th May up
to the garden city of Toowoomba.
Leaving
at 8.15am from the UQ bus loop, we’ll be heading about an hour out of
Brisbane to the Scenic Rim and Warrego Wines. After a guided tour of the
winery and the chance to sample some of their wares, we’ll get back on
the bus and head for historic Toowoomba. Following a quick tour of the
town and the amazing leaves of Queens Park, we’ll head for our
destination, the magical views of the Preston’s Peak winery. Here
we’ll stop for lunch and sample the best they have to offer before
departing for our final winery of the day, Rimfire Vineyards and Winery,
and then heading back to the UQ bus loop by 6-6.30pm.
The day will be a chance for you to sample Brissie’s local wine region, and buy some of those last minute pressies for everyone back home, as well as fantastic day away from exam prep.
Tickets
are strictly limited, so if you’re keen, be sure to get in fast. You
can pick them up for $25 on Friday, 19th May 2006, between
11am and 12pm or on Tuesday, 23rd May 2006, between 2.15 and
4pm in the courtyard outside General Purpose North (Building 39A).
Tickets will not be available outside these times and will be sold on a
first come, first served basis only.

SAC Thursdays @ the RE will happen fortnightly throughout the semester, and are your chance to touch base with your fellow SAC members about what you've been up to over the last couple of weeks, and to get to know some 'true blue' Aussies while you're at it. Give us a call if you've got any questions, or you can even checkout the RE's website (www.rehotel.com.au). Otherwise, just rock up on the night and look for the Aussie flag.
