Friday, September 5th: "Tou and Company" featuring Tou Saiko Lee performing with
Youa Chang: Youa has been singing kwv txhiaj, traditional Hmong poetry, for over 50
years. She enjoys going for spiritual walks to sooth her essence of eternal
strength. She is an avid gardener, and makes sweet rice wine.
Shou Na Yang: Shou Na is a high school student at Roseville High. She is a writer,
Spoken Word Artist, volleyball athelete, and aspires to become a R & B
singer.
Mei Yen Ho: Mei Yen is a Spoken Word and Visual Artist. She is a published author,
mother of two Tonkinese monkeys, and seeker of all truths.
Friday, September 19th: Spoken Word Open Mic Night - A Collaboration with
Portraits of Boiled Thoughts (a U of M Student Organization)
In
an unprecedented event - - Metropolitan State University and Tte University of Minnesota
collaborate to create an evening of Asian Student Spoken Word. PBT exists to
create and encourage an environment where members can have a creative outlet
for writing; to provide a forum for speakers to make presentations of timely
interest to members of the literary arts; to provide a support group for
students interested in creative writing; to provide social activities for the

Friday, September 26th: Asian Hip-Hop Night
Featuring
an evening of Asian Hip-Hop artists from the Twin Cities area. This promises to
be a lively evening filled with powerful words, hard hitting music, and street
smarts.
All
events at 7 p.m. in Metropolitan State’s Fine Arts
Studio, 677 E. 7th St. (NW corner of 7th &
Maria).
All
events are free and open to the public.
