A new generation of artists is combining and redefining traditional art forms, creating new materials, performance practices and methods of artistic expression. The Strange Attractors XI Festival of Experimental Music and Intermedia Art will bring to Metropolitan State University a collection of renowned artists in a celebration of new work and creativity. The festival will offer a flexible and interactive environment for artists to present and discuss their work to audiences who will have a unique opportunity to experience these works in diverse and creative ways.

Comorevi ButtEr fLy– The Tokyo-based performer presents works from her recent CD.

From the Dark Side – A Halloween Collaborative Intermedia Performance Drone currated by Diane Ho and the Nobles eXperimental interMedia Group.

Friday, October 31st (7 p.m.)

 

Carei Thomas The legendary local and AACM composer-improviser presents “Walking Through Songs” in collaboration with Steve Goldstein, laptop computer sampling, Steve Linsner, video artist and Davis Menas, electric guitar and MIDI performance system.

Friday, November 7th (7 p.m.)

 

Wade Kolata – The composer-performer returns to Strange Attractors with a stellar cast of local improvisers.

Friday, November 14th  (7 p.m.)

 

Andrew Lafkas  - The bassist curates an evening of local performers investigating the outer regions of improvisation and collaboration.

Friday, November 21st (7 p.m.)

                                                                         

Steve Goldstein and the Nobles eXperimental interMedia Group The guest artist and laptop performer joins the Group in presenting new-spirited improvisations and composition projects.
