Page 3! We had another rehearsal Sunday, and we listened to the recordings of the previous week's throwdown. I must say, it's really taking shape now. The only issue I can think of is the fact that we tend to all turn up and play louder than hell, and at times it's difficult to hear everything that's going on. I know eT*d has had some difficulty hearing himself singing, but on one of the tunes where we had turned down considerably it sounded fine and dandy. We'll hopefully get enough tunes together for a demo, and we'll probably be able to get some gigs on that demo. Which is good, considering that local gigs have completely dried up due to the issues at the Space. No bar owners here in town want to take a chance on us because our music is too unconventional (one person actually told us we're "too scary") so Springfield's loss will be other scenes' gain, I guess. We do have a show lined up in El Paso, IL with the Locked Sound. They're a trio, and they rawk hard like nobody's damn business. It should be a good show, and may lead to future gigs. Who knows? I know I've been promising sound files for a while now, and I'm going to try again later. We'll see. The band is as tight as ever, and this particular lineup is working well together. Agent An*nymo has brought in some recording gear which, while a bit more problematic than the previous recording setup, has yielded better results. You may even be able to hear some of the stuff on the Esoterica show, hosted by djMsL*sa and mdjET*d on Tuesday nights, 10pm-2am on WQNA. www.wqna.org has a live stream, and if you're in Springfield it's 88.3. Tune in at least to hear some of the live mixes, it's a hoot! When sound files are available I'll link to them.... otherwise see me in realtime and I'll burn you a copy! later freaks! |
