BIG MOE
On December 5th 1995
during the Ohio shotgun
season I was fortunate to take
this 12 point typical whitetail
buck that I dubbed "Big
Moe". I was hunting private
land in southeastern Ohio
when I slipped up on this
buck and jumped him out of
his bed. He was laying down
on a hillside that had thick
shoulder high weeds, and he
stood up when I was only
15-20 yards away. I dropped
  him where he stood.
He was the biggest typical buck taken in Ohio during the season and is in the top 5 biggest bucks taken by any method on record in Ohio. He grossed 197 3/8 and netted 188 2/8 Buckeye Big Buck points. Ohio's Buckeye Big Buck Club uses the Boone & Crockett scoring system. The Regional Scorer for Buckmasters', Edson Waite, scored the big buck at 178 BTR points. The big buck has been featured in "North American Whitetail", " Rack", "Whitetail Hunting Strategies", and "American Trophy Deer Magazines". He is truly a trophy of a lifetime.
