Went back out to Greene Co. this morning at daybreak.   As I walked through the front cornfield and was just about to cross the lane that separates the two fields a shooter buck busted me.  He was about 50 yards from me in the back cornfield.  I made it back to my treestand and about an hour later the small 6 point, half-rack, a doe and a yearling show up.  The 6 pointer walked right by my scent rag and didn't even pay it any attention!

Greene Co., I didn't see anything in the morning.  The 6 pointer showed up at 5:00 just 10 yards from my treestand.  This time he sniffed my scent rag and hung around awhile.  I tried to take some pictures but they didn't turn out.

I went up to Shelby Co. by myself and hunted all day.  I had to wear my hip-waders to make it across the creek, then put on my hunting boots.  I got busted by a small buck as I was about to enter the back greenfield.  I then sat up along the north fencerow.  About 8:00 I rattled in 2 yearlings who checked me out for about 20 minutes.  They were less than 10 yards from me, downwind, and never spooked.  After they were gone about a half an hour, I rattled again and they came back.  This time I had to make some noise and run toward them to scare them off.

After lunch I jumped up 4 dear, a couple of does and yearlings, as I approached the creek.  They ran across the creek and headed into the woods.  I then use my climbing stand and climbed up in a tree by a permanent stand in the woods.  About 4:30 I noticed at least two deer to the east of me about 150 yards away.  At 5:20 two yearlings show up south of me and eventually walk past my stand at 20 yards.  Too small to shoot, I let them walk.

Went back out to Shelby Co. for an all-day hunt.  The creek was up to just below my knees on my hip-waders.  I climbed a tree in the southern part of the property where I saw some deer activity previously.  At around 8:30 I noticed some movement to the east of me and eventually could make out two deer angling towards me.  They were hurrying along when suddenly they turned back.  Soon they appeared again and this time they were moving to the southeastern part of the woods.  They were about 150 yards away, where I had placed my stand the first time I hunted here this year!

Within minutes five more deer followed them to the same section of the woods.  The last one in line was a buck.  He was hounding the does.  All seven of them stayed somewhere back in the corner for about an hour.  By 10:30 they all eventually filtered back towards the bedding area in the middle of the property.  None of them came close enough for a shot.
Later I rattled in a button buck and his sister and took their picture.  I stayed in the stand until 1:00 and then decided to get down and get some exercise.  As I walked down towards the creek I jumped a doe and a yearling out of the same place that I jumped them a few days before.  I might have to set up in that area the next time.  I didn't see any deer in the afternoon from my stand.
