Welcome to the Student Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union at Syracuse University College of Law!

Our Mission

The Syracuse College of Law Civil Liberties Union is a public-interest organization that focuses on civil liberties issues such as first amendment rights, privacy rights, and civil rights. We defend these individual rights on campus, raise awareness about civil liberties issues, and engage in lobbying and educational work in the Syracuse community.

Chapter Profile

Our chapter, has been involved in, among other issues, free speech, police brutality, death penalty abolition, privacy and due process rights of students, and gender equality.

We are a chapter of the New York Civil Liberties Union , which is an affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union . We work closely with the Central NY Chapter of the New York Civil Liberties Union , here in Syracuse. See the ACLU  mandate.
