Film Review: ''Lovely''

1.5 / 4 STARS

DIRECTOR: SHAKTI

ACTOR: KARTHIK

ACTRESSES: MALAVIKA. MONAL

MUSIC DIRECTOR: DEVA

STORYLINE:

Chandru (Karthik) and Nivetha (Malavika) are in love. But since Nivetha's father (Manivannan) is horribly opposed to love, Chandru makes a plan to get him to agree. He pretends his friend (Vivek) is Nivetha's lover, and himself tries to impress Manivannan into selecting him as his daughter's groom.

COMMENTS:

Another inane comedy from Karthik of "Unnakkaga Ellaam Unnakkaga," "Harichandra," "Ullaithai Allithaa," "Seenu," and many others. Take your brain off, you might enjoy it -- and even then, not too much.

Vivek has a larger role than he usually does, but his comedy is not that funny. The film is woefully mediocre.

NOTE ON THE MUSIC:

Very mediocre track. "Aina Sabai Naduvae" brings to mind a Rojavanam song. "Vinodhamanavalae" is okay. The other songs are pretty poor.

RECOMMENDATION:

Inane comedy fans, watch the video. Others, skip it.
