I went to my interview on March 8 2000 at Sinclair Community College in Dayton Ohio. (I go to Ohio University but the Disney Recruiters don't come to my school so I had to travel to a different one) Both of the Campus Reps from my school (K'lynn and Allison) were taking a bunch of kids who wanted to be interviewed for the WDWCP to Dayton so I decided to go with them too. When we got there we saw a presentation about the program which lasted about an hour. They asked us about 5 Disney trivia questions..Who was born in 1928? (mickey mouse) What is Disney's newest park and when did it open? (Animal Kingdom, April 1998) What are the names of Disneys two cruise ships?(Disney Magic and Disney Wonder) I don't remember the other questions they asked but i amswered the Cruise Ship one and i got a little Pluto figurine for answering it right.
After the presentation we signed up for our interviews. We were interviewed that night because we were from a travelling school(plus we drove 2 1/2 hours to get there and they didn't want us to have to drive back the next day) I interviewed with Jessica from Columbus(she also attends OU) and some guy who i forgot his name but i remember he was from Kettering Ohio.
I think the interveiw went really well. Our recruiter's name was Kathline or Katherine, i can't remember. She was very nice and laid back. She asked us questions like "Why do you want to work for Disney?" "What makes you a good candidate for the program/what are your good qualities?" "If i called your previous/current boss, what would they say about you?" "What name do you want on your name tag and what city?" The interview was pretty easy because the 3 of us interviewing sat in a row and she just went down the line and asked the same question to each of us, which gave us some time to think about our answers.
After the interview I felt so relieved. I was so nervous before I got interviewed. After I was done i realized I shouldn't have been nervous at all. The recruiters are looking for people who get along well with other people(try to interact with people you are interviewing with). Just be yourself and you'll be fine.
In about 2-3 weeks you will receive a letter in the mail saying if you are accepted or not. That is wear i stop right now because I am waiting for my letter. This is the hard part of the whole process, just sitting and waiting and getting impatient. I'll let you all know what happens! :o) |
