This lady, is the one whom put my feet on the right path, as my life took a turn for the better because of her. You are no doubt wondering what I mean, so I will explain as best I can. As far back as I can remember, I was an unloved and unwanted child, until this woman came into my life. At the age of 44, she became my Mother. Not knowing what she was in for, as I was a rebellious child, fighting to survive in a orphanage, and fighting for any possessions, and at times my very life. Then she came along, and picked me out of a lineup to be hers in the future. She took me to her home, and there every day, worked to teach me right from wrong, and what to expect from life. She set my feet on the right path, and from there, I grew to become the person that I am today. A healthty, well adjusted adult, with 2 children, a very loving husband, and 4 grandchildren. Both her and her husband, took on a monumental, responsibility when they adopted me, not knowing what to expect, or how I would turn out. My Dad died back in 1971, and MOm lived on until she finally died in 2003 one month shy of her 90th birthday. That was the most devastating time of my life. I had lost the only person that really loved me, and then I was alone, as I have no brothers or sisters. Yes I have a wonderful husband, but she was my life, as I had promised my Dad on his death bed, that I would care for MOM for as long as she lived. The trouble I caused them, would have made anyone else, send me back, but they persevered, I ran away many times, but she was always there, and I eventually found, that I could sit and talk to her, when something was troubling me. She herself, had a very turbulent life, as she had endured one husband that beat her all the time, and a second husband that was an alcoholic, who also beat her, but nevertheless, she survived, and endured. A very hard working woman, that kept the family together, for many years. I still miss her deeply, and always will. Nothing or no-one will ever replace her. Yes, we fought over the years, and at times it was serious, but she was always, there. She saw me through 2 ex-husbands, and 3 marriages, the birth of my children, and the many emotional breakdowns I had. Never was there a time, when she really turned against me. Her Love was given freely and un-conditionally, how many can say that of their biological mothers. WE both went though thick and thin, with the loss of her husband, then father, and finally her Mother, not to mention 2 of her brothers. We were there for each other over the years. There will never be another Lynn. I LOVE YOU MOM, YOU ARE FINALLY AT PEACE, AND SLEEPING WITH THE ANGELS, WHERE YOU BELONG. |
