She was looking through her room
today, you'll never guess what
she found
A little book of words
that brought voices to
make a buzzing sound
They chattered away
and said good-byes to
one young girl
The comments, mixed
with insults, was passed
in a whirl
Besides cruel jokes was
usually a consistent comment
on how unique she was
One wrote of weirdness,
another on the reading
she does
They said she was
nice, they said she
was kind
But they didn't know
in the future, in this book
advice she'd find
Three years later she
sat down, and read through
the blue and white book
She read tiny comments
and saw that she'd been liked,
she'd never even looked
Determination, one teacher
said she had, and looking back
she knew it was true
Three years gone by, and she'd
gotten lost, confused on
what to do
Her friends now didn't
really talk, and she
thought things were Always bad
Looking through that book
she finally saw the things
she'd had
She'd been strange, odd,
unique, and even
a bit wild
But a purpose was
in the heart of that
odd child
There were points
the girl still possessed,
like her loud voice
She was now guarded,
bitter and bitchy....
But it'd been her choice
Because she'd taken
wrong perception
into her heart
Believing certain
qualities were needed to
play that wanted part
Three years had passed
and the girl
wrote it down
She was hoping
for her answers
only to be found
Knowing problems aren't
simple, she planned
to think a lot
She wanted some things
back from those days
So she had to find a plot
Determination, and openness
to outrageous ideas, were two
things she had to get
Fear of being mocked had
taken them, and so
will was first to be met
From her changes she
wanted her power to
speak out loud
And she needed
strength not to give in
and then join the crowd
She decided she would
not give in to things
for a while
While she thought
of things, and put
herself on trial
So now thanks to that
little book, we just have
to wait and see
See if the girl can
fix herself......
See if I can fix me.
