My first year in high school, so far, is okay. Okay? You are probably wondering what I mean by okay, right? Well, let's take a look. You see, first off, it's basically the least of my expectations of what high school life would be like. Many, almost all, of the teachers and students don't quite make my cut. Edison has clearly proven to be a difficult school and my first year demonstrates it.

First of all, please allow me to tell you alittle bit about the school system. As you know, we all have about 7 or 8 teachers. They expect us to do a ton of work and get it in all the same week. Tell me how in the world do they expect us to do all this work? Aren't we also humans and not machines? Many of the teachers assign a project and gives a test and homework all in one week. How in God's name do we do this for all 7 or 8 teachers? Then, whenever it is time towards the ending of the marking periods, we have the about two times the work neccessary. And on top of that, they assign these weird and boring projects. If the teachers made the class and the work more interesting, don't you think that we would actually want to come? Alright then, there we go.

The school safety system is great. There are many rules and regulations. Some of which are sensible and others that aren't so sensible. There are great activites and programs that can turn a dummy into a genius. The varsity teams are talented, proud and great. The have many, many trophies to prove their victories. Anyway, back to the school system. The rules that they have, help to keep the school in tact. There are great before and after school activities. We have karate, basketball, baseball, track, handball, and other sports. So you see? We can't exactly be that bored here at Edison.

Most of the teachers do a great job at contolling the class and keeping a safety plan in tact. Then there are others who, well let's just say, needs alittle assistant in the classroom. The cafeteria is clean..... I think. The halls and classroom are mostly kept clean. Most of the staff, teachers, aides, principals, and assistants are friendly and nice. Then there are some who I rather not even to talk to, they just might bit my head off. Other than this, Edison is a great school with a high reputation. Most, almost all, of the staff have positive attitudes towards us, the students, each other and their job.

Then, there are the students. WOW! The students here are Edison are quite .... interesting. We have students of all kinds and races. Tall ones, short ones, fat ones, skinny ones, red and blue haired ones, single ones, married ones, and.. well I think you get my point. We have students that has averages that ranges from 100's to 45's. The students here at Edison are friendly... well most of them, they are smart, talented, brave, and live interesting lives. Our friends are wonderful. My friends are always there for me when I need them. They always have a hand for you to hold, a shoulder for you to lean on, and a ear to listen to all your problems. Friends hang out together, study together, eat, fight, and learn together. Having a friend to help you through your high school years is probably a good idea. Atleast you wil have someone to count on for support. Then there are also people who we call "back stabbers" or traitors. You should always chose your friends carefully and wisely because you never know who to trust. Other than that, we are all one very, very big and happy family here at Edison.

So, therefore, as you can all see, high school is one long roller coaster ride that lasts for 4 years. High school makes some very sharp turns in one's life. The years at high school are so full of surprises. There are many decisions that need to be carefully made in high school. So this is how my first year in high school was. Long. Stressful. Very stressful. Fun is someways and has been a very interesting experience. And of course as being a freshman, we get picked on by the sophomores, juniors, and most definitely the seniors! So I have therefore proven my thesis of high school being a major step in life. A long roller coaster ride. And of course the bridge to cross to get into the adult years. My final words to you about high school are:"DoN'T bE nAiVe. It a LaRgE wOrLd OuT tHeRe, Be SuRE tO GeT YoUr ShAre Of iT."
