The sold out Radiohead show at the Worcester Centrum in Massachusetts on April 15th was quite a show. Everyone couldn't wait for them to come on. At one point, the lights went out and everyone started going crazy, but they came back on after another second. False alarm. It wasn't long after that when Radiohead finally came onstage, and the crowd went wild.
They opened with "Airbag". Just like the new album. It was quite an opening. They sound pretty identical to their album. Then he went into "Karma Police". That song really sounded great. It was a great light setup also. After that they did an oldie but goodie, "The Bends". Everyone was happy to hear that one. Thom said, "Thank you" pretty much after every song. They then played "Exit Music", "Climbing Up the Walls", "Just", and "Bulletproof". Somewhere in there Thom commented that this was the biggest show in the US that they were playing. Whoo hoo. Shout out to Boston! But, it was also Ed' s 30th birthday, and Thom said Happy birthday to him and joked about how old he was,and someone from the audience sent up a card to him. Thom got it and gave it to Ed.
But, they also played "Lucky", "My Iron Lung", "Planet Telex". Lucky was in my opinion one of the best songs that nite. Probably because its one of my favorites.
Then, the hit "No Surprises" left the crowd silent (besides a few loud people), but people lit up their lighters and the Centrum looked like a Christmas tree.
Following those songs, they played "Lurgee", "Pearly", "Talk Show Host", and "Bones". Finally, the real big hit from OK Computer,"Paranoid Android" got the crowd really happy and in awe. Then they finished(before encore) by playing "Street Spirit".
And when they went offstage the crowd wasn't at all ready to leave, everyone was screaming, clapping, and slapping their chair seats up and down. Finally they came back on for an encore. When they came out, Thom said "Thank you, I really love the sound from what your doing with the chairs." Then of course, everyone was doing it again.
But, their encore started with a song on their "Paranoid Android" UK single called "Polyethylene(part 2)". A great song. Then they did "Let Down", and "Fake Plastic Trees". More great songs. Then finally, "The Tourist" ended the incredible nite.
Then they said thank you and they were off.
