In which Thom Yorke and chums appear to bow to overpowering critical pressure and ditch the innovation that made Kid A such an urgent and fascinating album and, instead, return to their well worn 'miseramelodica'.
Hacks the country over have now presumably pulled that picture of Thom off the dart board and allowed their Radiohead albums to again share space alongside their treasured copy of that other masterpiece of restless creativity, the latest from REM.
The song is beautiful, of course, but what a shame that bands aren't allowed to push it out these days.
