Project NoGo's Roots

Project "NoGo" took root back in 2002, when my father and I began our search for a fox body. We had no real luck locating one within our price range. Just when we were about to give up all hope of locating a foxy lady, there she was in the local ads of the newspaper. Little did we know this would be the beginning of our adventure. I'll get as detailed as possible, while still leaving separate portions of the build up as proprietary as possible.

We called up the guy and found out he lived way out in the boonies where the road don't even go. We arrived only to see what looked to be a broken spirited 87 'Stang. The guy walked outside, I should have spotted this but I didn't, he was as seedy looking as a used car sales-man. He convinced me that if I didn't buy the car he would have it working within two weeks and would sell it for even more than the already to high price of $1400 for a rolling chassis; blown heads; bad radiator; flex-fan/shroud; no t-5; no exhaust; and some other Crapped out parts, which will be mentioned later.

Being a total newbie to cars and what is involved in making one whole again, I bought the car and his story. Rented a car-dolly and towed the Project home. Not even half way down the guys street, after stopping at a stop sign, the wheels on the Project locked up and would not BUDGE forwards. I then put it in reverse then drive again, and the wheels unlocked. I had to do the Reverse-Forward dance at each and every stop sign, during rush hour. I should have seen this as the warning sign of times to come.

Well I finally got it home and so begins our saga of repairing, locating, acquiring, purchasing anything and everything that was missing. And believe me, I did not stay a newbie to Mustangs after finishing this project.
