Profile: A soldier of Amonroth, Tristan is loyal and strong. Many turn to him when times are dark, but when time darkens over Tristan's path, where then can he turn?
When I first started writing Captain Tristan, I wanted to make sure he had some realistic traits. Having spent time in the Air Force, I knew I had to keep him strong as a leader, but with a side of him no one but his closest friends saw; something I had acknowledged about real officers.
Since he was going to be my hero of this story, I needed him to seem noble and worthy of the role. Yet at the same time, I wanted him to be flawed. He drinks, he makes wrong decisions sometimes, but he listens to his heart and is the kind of leader that never leaves a man behind.
Tristan quickly became a favorite of mine because of how dynamic he manages to be, and I enjoyed writing him for my main hero because he fits the part so well.
