The float trip was started 5 years ago every 2nd weekend in august we all get together and spend the entire weekend camping out in Tahlequah Oklahoma.
Most of us meet at the campsite on friday night and just all get to know everyone again ( considering some us dont see each other very often) . Usually there is people still coming in at 1 , 2 even 3 am to float with us.
Some of us bring our kids and doggies with us... we try to keep this a family orinated event one of those last family and friends event before summer is over with and school starts back...
On Saturday morning we all get up early eat breakfast chase kids and get ready to take the bus on a 12 mile ride where we get in our rafts or canoes and start the
6 - 8 hr longggggggg journey down the ILLINIOS RIVER....
Once we get our stuff together and we are off and floating down the river ... We have our super soakers ready and are on the look out for our boyscout friends .
The boyscouts and us have a war every year and some years its worse and more personal then others but they are part of the reason we old folks ( most drunker then cooter brown ) have so much fun .
Around 3 or 4 miles into the float its time for one of the 1000 breaks we old farts have to take along the 12 mile float. We rest for awhile smoke a few cigs use the river for our toliet.. eat a few bites of whatever we have and we are back off till we come to the bend ... there we stop for awhile most of the guys climb the tree with the rope hanging from it, try to be tarzan and swing into the water, while us girls are watching the kiddios and working on our beautiful tans.... Once we leave and are off again we make atleast 10 more stop along the way and finally we start rolling in somewhere between 6 and 8 o clock in the evening.
