It is a quaint 1840's farm house nestled in a secluded valley in the Catskill Mountains. It is a place to come to when you need a refreshing pause from your everyday life. It is a place where you can take the time to rediscover a bit of nature. Whether you like hiking and exploring hundreds of miles of meandering trails through the Catskill Forest Preserve, fishing in a trout stream, swimming in a natural blue swimming hole, just relaxing along a crystal clear stream by a mossy glen, meditating by a natural waterfall or sitting under our "wish fulfilling tree", a maple tree that has endured for over a century, the Sundown Country Retreat is designed by nature, to be your creative retreat where your Spirit will express itself.
During the winter season, the Sundown Country Retreat is truly a winter wonderland! The terrain is suitable for cross country skiing, sledding, snowboarding, tobaggoning and snow tubing. within a 40 minute drive, you can climb mountains or enjoy downhill skiing at nearby ski resorts. Of course you can always build a snowman or visit a Christmas tree farm where you can cut your own Christmas tree!

Located only two hours away from New York City, in the Catskill Mountains, you will find peace and serenity at the Sundown Country Retreat, a gateway between your busy world of doing and nature's world of peace and harmony and being.
The Sundown Country Retreat is surrounded by some of the highest mountain peaks in Southeastern New York. It is located on the Rondout Creek where several mountain springs come together creating a natural energy that is certainly mystical!
Our guest house has four lovely guestrooms, two bathrooms, one with tub/shower and kitchen facilities with pots, pans and dishes. There is a washer and dryer on the premise and many modern conveniences.
Just bring your food and clothing and the rest is here for you to use during your stay.
Everything is designed to provide you with a setting of serenity and simplicity that supports your need for "time out" from your busy schedule and a place to reconnect with Nature and your own deepest Self.

The Sundown Country Retreat can be "your retreat". We have one simple rate - $50 per person per night midweek & $65 per person per night on weekends and holidays.
