More 2003 Garden Results
(above) This plant reached only 8 feet tall, but had a 16 inch seed head.  This variety of mammoth russian that I'm testing for my first time in 2003, which I've named ,'thin-shelled' sunflower.  The shells of the seeds are thinner than that of other mammoth russian varieties I've grown.  I received the seeds from a woman in Virginia.
Three pictures of a self-sown sunflower grown at my relative's house in Pennsylvania.  The previous year I had grown Kong Hybrid plants (NK Lawn & Garden), Moonwalker (Burpee), as well as some other varieties.  The flowers look suspiciously like the Moonwalker plants that I grew, but  the plant's branching habits and size look more like the Kong plants that I grew.  I suspect that one or both of these plants' genetics may be a part of this plant
