Transitional Employment Program
(T.E.P.)

What is Transitional Employment?

Transitional Employment provides opportunities.

Transitional Employment consists of time-limited, entry-level positions owned and maintained by the Clubhouse.

T.E.P.'s usually parallel typical working hours and last 15 to 20 hours a week.

The Clubhouse is responsible for screening potential applicants.

The Clubhouse Placement Managers learn all aspects of the job.

The Placement Manager trains the member on site until the member is comfortable on their own.

The Clubhouse provides support to the member.

Coverage is guaranteed.  Staff will fill in case of absenteeism.  Companies do not pay staff for their time on the job.

T.E.P.'s usually last 6 to 9 months.

Companies are urged not to hire the member in a permanent position
unless it does not interfere with the T.E.P.

Currently Sunflower Club owns two Transitional Employment positions.  Both positions are mail couriers at Four County Mental Health Center in Independence, KS.

These positions pay $7.25 an hour and last 15 hours a week.

Currently we are on the lookout to broaden and diversify our T.E.P.
