Sandy and Tony's Kirby as a puppy and...

....Kirby at 1 1/2 years old. What a change!

Nancy Cowan has some beautiful feathered friends. "Joice Himawan and I got together (again) at the Southern NH Highland Games in June," says Nancy. "I recruited her to hold birds as we were packing up--were finishing an exhausting, rainy, getting-poured-on-all-day-with-no-cover day (not even tarps and duct tape!), and Joice's husband snapped this photo of me, Jazz (my bird), Joice and her son."

Paul's two Chinooks, Leolani & Max Keetna, who are city pups,
so they pull scooters & skateboards instead of a sled!

"What do you mean there's no Iditarod coverage on?" asks Becky's Angel, checking for herself.

June shows her limitations as a handler. Two hands and three dogs does not cut it
as she attempts to keep Amiga, Middy, and Foxy still for a photo by Middy's human, Barb Bennett.

Rosemary's Chapin and Ginger illustrate the old adage, "Let sleeping dogs lie..."

Paul and Cindy McCurry's Yuki pauses a moment from play to pose for a picture

Lois' Dozer, who graciously shares space with not only Zuma at times but Tiger

Annie Myers and grandson prepare for a sled ride courtesy of GB Jones

Linda's Heidi, a Border Collie,
gets in the holiday mood

Stormwatch's Slick Willie in lead, Snowpals Bonne Belle (dilute black/white),
Michael's Snowpal of Oz (black), Paulette and son Michael on runners

Kelove enjoys shiding in plain sight.

"I did, I did, I did the Iditarod Trail!" says Kelove.

Jet, Brew, and Roshi wait to take Bob, the Urban Musher, for a spin
Both Jet and Brew are certfied therapy dogs

Tundra, Amy Maher's "spoiled rotten Malamute, playing his favorite sport."
In the background is her late Great Dane, Cieli

Chena daydreaming....of the Iditarod?

Or, could she be dreaming of summer vacation?

Obviously Chena isn't the only one with IditaDreams?
Kathy's Heidi, running in the snow

Barb Bennett's Middy (Midnight), right after the battle putting booties on for the first time ever.
Five minutes later she discovered she could not only step in supercold snow (-12, -45 wind chill)
but could play in it, with the booties on. Next morning she calmly held out each paw to have the booties put on again.

Rebecca on the trail at the Nicolet Sprint near Eagle RIver, WI
Lunar (black) and Diana in lead, Shimmer(right wheel) and Caoihme (left wheel)

Lisa, Ken, and Rebecca Clark's dogs at the Flambeau International at Park Falls, WI

And, yes, that's a snowboard in the background, used for a boardjoring demo!!!

1999 TOTT Finney's Annui, a retired sled dog from Plettner Kennels,
looks ready to disperse lots of husky hugs to school kids.

Shawn and Devil make some new friends at a school visit, too

Zel's Ti, the official IditaBirdie
Do you think we should tell her PETA says she doesn't WANT in that cage?

Jeez, can't a girl get a little privacy, Ti wonders

Heather's Denali, a rescued stray Sibe, now a Registered Therapy dog

Becky's Angel and Annie, waiting for snow.

Becky's felines, Abby and Costello

Don Bowers' dogs
The Iditarod Trail is lesser without you, Don

Yet, while Don's gone, his dogs continue to follow his dream,
here with Rick Horstmann is Maybelline, third on left, and Clyde, in wheel,
conceived on Don's '95 run (and in the book with Mab).

I hope to bring you more pix as time goes by but, in the meantime, here are links to my on-line photo albums.
