A Little Background

On November 29, 1997, The Sunny Day Diner was opened for business. It's new owners are Christine and Bruce Balch and Kelly-Ann Kass. Bruce and Chris are natives of New Hampshire and Kelly is from Southbridge, Massachusetts

Bruce is an Executive Chef and Graduate for the Culinary Institute of America. He has a broad culinary experience ranging from Country Inns to Major Hotels Chains. Chris is a versatile Chef with a special talent in fine pastry and baked goods. Both she and Bruce have traveled and worked throughout the United States.

Their partner, Kelly, was educated at the University of Massachusetts and is also a Graduate of the Culinary Institute. She has lived for 25 years in Florida where she cooked at private clubs, health care facilities and retirement communities.

Bruce, Chris and Kelly plan to make the Sunny Day Diner a "must" in the Lincoln-Woodstock area. They will continue the tradition of the classic New England Diner ~ good food, quality service, and a congenial atmosphere. To this end, they have opened an in-house bakery to make their own breads rolls, and deserts. Special requests, and retail orders are welcome. They will also offer catering services.

The Diner itself is one of the last built by the Master Comany of Pequannock, New Jersey. Built in 1958, it represents the Master Tradition of the "Classic Diner". For many Years it was Stoney's Diner in Dover, New Hampshire. It was moved to Lincoln in 1988.
