I felt an angel near today,
though one I couldn’t see.
I felt an angel, oh-so-close,
sent to comfort me.
I felt an angel’s gentle kiss,
soft upon my cheek.
And oh, without a single word,
of caring it did speak.
I felt an angel’s loving touch,
soft upon my heart.
And with that touch, I felt the pain,
and hurt within depart.
I felt an angel’s tepid tears,
fall softly next to mine.
And knew that as those tears did dry,
a new day would be mine.
I felt an angel’s silken wings,
enfold me with pure love.
And felt a strength within me grow,
a strength sent from above.

The morning sun, the songs of birds
awaken us into this world
each day as we begin anew
our journey, may angels walk with you
And as I travel life and land
I pray that angels hold my hand
as I face what the day brings
I pray to soar on angels' wings
I hope to feel the air so sweet
I hope that angels guide my feet
as I walk through this day may I
touch those who I meet and stop by.
Life gives us chances for new beginnings
each day as we find what it's bringing
to us, to live and experience
to learn of love and life's essence
So as we travel on life's road
I hope to lighten someone's load
I hope that I may bring a smile
to those with whom I talk a while
And if by chance I feel afraid
or worry about the mess I've made
I hope that angels walk with me
and set my heart and spirit free
With angels walking by my side
to keep me safe and be my guide
I just won't feel so alone
no matter where or with whom I roam
