“Homeless”
He watches as they hurry by,
Not giving him a glance
They think he wants a hand-out, but
He simply wants a chance.
To rise above the circumstances
That put him where he is
He wants the chance to try again
To make the future his.
He needs to know someone cares
If he should live or die,
But no compassion does he see
And he begins to cry.
He turns away and crouches down
So no one sees his tears;
He thinks about the days ahead,
And all the empty years.

This poem is about the homeless people that each
of
us see every day.Whether it be a man. woman, or
child
they do exist and we all have seen them. Are
you guilty of
turning away from one of these people?
Have you ever thought "there but for the
Grace of God, go I".
If not, then it's time for you to think about
it the next
time you see one of these people. A kind smile
to many
of them would mean more than you can ever
imagine.
A smile would validate their existance as a
human, and
how much does a smile really cost you?
