Sing me a song...

This is the story behind my poem:"Sing me a song" which i wrote Mar 29,2001...I already shared it with a good friend and i thought i'll share it with you all...:)

Dear -------------:

I forgot to mention a heartfelt incident that happened to me at the festival...that morning I started writing a poem hoping to give it the title "Sing me a song..."but for some reason I lost all motivation after the first stanza and I forgot all about it as the day went on with its commands. When i attended the performance by the disabled kids that afternoon...the first song they sang started with ....."Sing a song"...you probably heard that song

many times...I didn't realize it until later, this is when I remembered the abandoned poem that I never dared to end that morning...:) and it took a wonderful group of disabled kids to remind my heart to finish singing its own beats ....when I got home that night...I didn't hesitate a bit to go ahead and finish it and here it is: hope you like:

Sing me a song

Sing me a song of an endless love

Filling my virtuous soul with joy and mirth

Murmuring what uttered by angels above

And by its soothing echo I'm eternally refreshed

Sing me a song of the quiet heart

As sweet as honey and pure as love

Like a healing balm with magic stimuli

Enlightening all my senses with heavenly bliss

Sing me a song of the awakening dance

With steps on sand of time forever to last

Emanating wisps of flames wherever we stand

Spinning on mighty tides of infinite romance

Sing me a song of the world's peace

Relinquishing the sense of children's plea

To replace raindrops of malice with harmony

Sending rays of selfless love to the heart of eternity.
