| What is the ACF The ACF is the Army Cadet Force, it is a youth organisation made for young people between 12years and 9months and 18years and 9months. The ACF sees no racial or sexual boundaries. Males and Females of all races and religions are welcome to join one of the many Detachments. How do I get a uniform? If you join cadets you will be given a uniform free of charge. All the cadets ask is that you have been a member for 6months and that you have filled in all your paper work, and also taht you agree to hand it back when you leave. The only thing the cadets do not supply you with are boots. This is because peoples feet grow too quickly. How long do I have to sign up for? 1st of all you are not signing up for anything. Joining cadets is like joining any other youth organisation, although you get more out of it. You are not joining up for the army when you join cadets. You are free to leave whenever you want. Do I have to join the Army when I leave? NO. You do not have to join the army when you leave cadets. Although if you are thinking of a military carreer then being in cadets can do nothing but help you as you learn reqonised skills in the ACF. What sort of commitment will I have to make? To get the most ot of cadets you should commit yourself 100%. What you put in is what you will get out. So if you put in hardwork, discipline, obidency and complete dedication you can be sure that you will reap the benifiets!!! What rewards will I get from being a cadet? Being a cadet can bring about many rewards. From personal satisfaction to recognised qualifications such as the Duke of Edinburgh (DOE) or BTEC qualifications. |
