The Sacrificial Way
A book she read about love's toughest test
Where the hero sacrificed his final breath
Her name was uttered on lips of fire
When he was stricken by swords of desire
A track of lilies led her to find the way
Where his footsteps marched nights and days
To feel the heartwarming touch of her last embrace
And enchant love's own theme composed by fate
The ground shook below her at a sight so noble
To see him breathless embracing her portrait
Saddened by the moment she cried herself to sleep
And in a dream the two once again were redeemed
Glances of denied passion dominated the scene
And what is considered a dream seemed so real
With kisses of morning dew their souls were bruised
And on wings of eagles their hearts fervently flew
Their closeness encompassed the whole universe
Extending their arms to touch love's sacrificial victims
And escort them to a world fluent with tenderness
A world where reflections of forbidden dreams is perceived
And gusts of love feed the souls with no cease.
