Oakdale - July 1, 1998
Steve Howe and Igor Khoroshev
Yes appeared in Connecticut for the second time since last fall in support of their latest record, Open Your Eyes. The lineup remains the same -- Jon Anderson (lead vocals and percussion), Steve Howe (lead guitar), Chris Squire (bass), Alan White (drums), Billy Sherwood (rhythm guitar) and Igor Khoroshev (keyboards). They opened up with "Siberian Khatru" followed by "Rhythm Of Love". Highlights included "Wonderous Stories" and "Close To The Edge".
Steve Howe was in top form. Jon’s vocals were perfect and also played percussion instruments including tamborine, wood block and rainstick. Chris Squire was full of energy especially during "Heart Of The Sunrise". Alan White was thunderous. Billy Sherwood added backing vocals and rhythm guitar while Igor Khoroshev performed strongly on keyboards.
They never slowed down, playing solidly for two and a half hours to a nearly full house. The crowd was enthusiastic throughout the show especially during "Roundabout" when the fans crowded the stage, singing and dancing along with the band. We look forward to new albums and future shows in the area.
