It's not difficult to notice that the Beatles' albums can be clearly divided into four chronological categories:
Original Releases
- 1964-1970: The albums issued during the Beatles era |
Compilations and
Late Issues - 1970-1984: All compilations released during the 70's and 80's, plus some original albums that had not been released before then. |
Remastered Collection - 1988:
The official CD collection. |
New Releases:
The new (double) CDs released in the 90's |
The Compact Records
The Brazilian Beatles' Singles and EPs [PREVIEW]
and the
history of singles in Brazil.
Unnofficial Albums
The non-EMI releases
EMI-Odeon: A bit about the Brazilian Beatles' records factory |
Catalog Numbers: The numbering system adopted by EMI-Odeon in the Beatles' albums. |
For the original (remastered) collection, only the CD covers presented
here are original scans, found on the Internet. All the other covers (LPs
and old issues) were SIMULATED by myself using a bitmap editor to
modify the original CD covers. (You can trust me, these recreations are
almost perfect.)
Also for the original albums (remastered collection), I mention the
track times and the composer name. For the "Lennon-McCartney"
songs, I mention the real composer, when it's Lennon and when it's
McCartney. If the song was created by one of them, but the other has contributed,
the contributor is written in parenthesis.
Enrique Cabrera's Only
Some Northern Songs: Extensive files on the original (UK) albums, including
song descriptions, lyrics and MIDI files. It is also the source of the
"real" composers names I use.
