Nana Tsiboe
(percussion)
Fantastic percussionist (also
flute player), Nana Tsiboe was born in Ghana, Africa. He was trained in
the Ashanti Cultural Centre in Ghana. He later went to live in America,
relocating himself in England. He appears in many albums with different
bands, but he has also commanded many different projects. It's hard tracing
his career, so I'll include here the only facts I know.
Trevor Watts Moiré
Music was formed in 1982 by Trevor Watts. Basically, a jazz combo, it presents
an always-changing lineup. Nana Tsiboe has played with the band quite often.
Other members of the band were Liam Genockey or Lol Coxhill.

Trevor Watts also led a different
project called Drum Orchestra. In 1990, he merged both projects into the
newborn Trevor Watts Moiré Music Drum Orchestra. This was their
lineup in 1988:
They released a live album, With one voice,
recorded at Rye Festival in September 1988, and comprising 3 lenghty tracks.

In 1992, we find Nana Tsiboe playing again with Trevor
Watts in Trevor Watts Moiré Music Drum Orchestra:
Pass The Cat is a band led by Steve Riv. In 1997,
some festivals featured this lineup:
There's a later album, Peach, dedicated
to the memory of their drummer, veteran Jack Peach, and recorded by that
same lineup.
Pete Kirtley is a superb guitarist (who'll be covered
sometime in my Olympus). When Kirtley decided upon composing and releasing
a special song for a benefit cause, he called some of his friends, assembled
as The Pete Kirtley Band:
They recorded a CD single, with the song 'Little
children', and all the royalties were donated to Jubilee Action, for
the children of Brazil. The CD was supported by Paul McCartney, who lent
his own studios for the song being recorded.

lineup of the Moiré Music Drum Orchestra:
In 1997, he led his own Nana Tsiboe's Assem Ni. He
still played some festivals with them in 1999. Other bands led by him were:
Nana Tsiboe's West African Quartet in 1998, or Nana Tsiboe's Super Hi-Life
Band (an octet) in year 2000.

They released a live album called Live at the
Athens Concert Hall.
He also plays in an interesting project led by
multi-percussionist Peter Lockett. The band is called Network of Sparks,
and it comprises:
They have released an album, One, as
well as toured, under different configurations (depending on the musicians
availability). And it's supposed the album is to be reissued with different
remixes soon.
After having played in John Pearson's album, Rhythm
oil, Pearson assembled a band for promoting it. The band was named
Blues & Beyond. This was the lineup:
