I grew up in Sydney, Australia when I was 4 months old. My father was in the military at the time. I have been living in Australia with my aunt and uncle, until the time I came back to the United States 4 years ago.
I've been listening to Olivia Newton-John since 1971. One day, my aunt and I decided to do some house cleaning. When we were doing our chores, we had the radio playing. We can't function when we have no music to listen to. So, we heard the song If Not For You. We were amazed that the DJ told his audiences that it was a young lady all the way from England. Ever since hearing that song, I had to go out and buy the single.
Olivia Newton-John: Born in Cambridge, England on September 26, 1948. She moved to Melbourne, Australia when she was 5 years old, when her father took on a higher position at King's College in Melbourne.
How can a girl out of England start out with country music and then turn around and do pop music? Olivia has given me inspiration over the years through her music. Her voice is soft, flowing, and it just sets me off to a far away dreamland every time I hear her sing.
